    Walktober events starting this week

    The Last Green Valley announced Monday that its 26th annual Walktober event this year will include a month’s worth of activities in the National Heritage Corridor. Events will begin this week and continue through the month of October.

    Most activities are free and many are family-friendly, the organization said in a news release. The events are listed in the Walktober brochure, available by sending an email to mail@tlgv.org; by calling (860) 774-3300; by downloading a PDF from www.thelastgreenvalley.org; or by picking one up at any town hall, library or information kiosk within the region.

    All updates, additions and cancellations will be posted on the Walktober page on The Last Green Valley’s website and Facebook.

    The Last Green Valley is comprised of 35 towns in southeastern Massachusetts and eastern Connecticut of the Quinebaug and Shetucket river valleys National Heritage Corridor. Local towns in The Last Green Valley include Norwich, Preston, Griswold, Plainfield and Voluntown.
