    Master gardener program applications sought

    The University of Connecticut Master Gardener Program is accepting applications for 2017.

    The program provides horticultural training to individuals who wish to expand their gardening interests and share their knowledge with the public through community volunteerism. The program begins in January with 16 full-day classes (one day per week) followed by 60 hours of volunteer service to be completed by September 2017. Those who complete the program receive University of Connecticut Cooperative Extension Master Gardener certification. 

    Classes will meet in West Hartford, Brooklyn, Haddam, Bethel, and Stamford. The charge for the program is $425.

    Applications can be downloaded at: mastergardener.uconn.edu. A completed application must be postmarked by Oct. 28 and submitted to the location where you wish to take classes.
