Thanksgiving donations needed

Groton — Groton Human Services is seeking donations to provide Thanksgiving baskets for 500 families this year.

The following items are needed: frozen turkeys, canned fruits and vegetables, instant mashed potatoes, canned yams, stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, gravy, muffin and bread mixes, Jell-O, desserts, cereal and pancake mix.

The office also is accepting monetary donations to buy turkey gift checks. Donations are needed by Nov. 17.

Donations may be dropped off from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at Groton Human Services, 2 Fort Hill Road. Checks may be made payable to Groton Food Locker. For more information, call (860) 441-6760.
