Waterford police: Annual motorcycle parade will cause brief delays Sunday

Waterford — Police are warning motorists to expect delays on two different occasions Sunday as a charity motorcycle parade makes its way through town.

The 37th annual Motorcycle Gift Run, which is organized by the New London County H.O.G. Chapter and Mike’s Famous Harley-Davidson, will begin at 1 p.m. in New London and head west on state Route 1 through Waterford to East Lyme.

The motorcycle parade will then return from Niantic into Waterford on state Route 156 before heading south on state Route 213 to Camp Harkness.

Police said they will be monitoring traffic, but motorists may want to seek alternate routes to avoid delays during the event.

Anyone with questions about the event and the delays it may cause can call police at (860) 442-9451 and ask for the traffic officer.

Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
