Norwich — The City Council voted unanimously Monday to approve a three-year contract with the Public Works supervisors' union, calling for 2 percent raises each year.
The contract covers five employees and will be retroactive to last July 1 and will run through June 30, 2019.
City Comptroller Josh Pothier said the 2 percent raises will be offset by significant savings to the city in changes to the health plan. The net cost increases to the city of the raises after those savings are expected to be 1.3 percent in the first year, 0.08 percent in the second year and 0.13 percent in the third year of the contract, Pothier said.
