Salem tax base grows 0.7 percent
Salem — The town's tax base grew by 0.7 percent in 2016 to $369.2 million, according to Town Assessor Barbara Perry.
Real estate values decreased by $1.4 million to $321.9 million, and motor vehicle values increased by about $300,000 to $34.1 million. Personal property values increased by $1.3 million to $13.3 million.
