Stonington — RiseUpMystic will host a pro-immigration rally at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the American Velvet Mill on Bayview Avenue.

The event, which will include speakers and music, also will raise money for the Immigrant Advocacy and Support Center in New London.

“The IASC is taking a stand. They are on the front lines in this fight to protect immigrants. And they need our help. We must rise up together in defense of immigrants everywhere, and we will begin by helping our neighbors,” stated RiseUpMystic in announcing the rally.

Prior to the event at 6 p.m., there will be a postcard-writing campaign with postcards and stamps provided.

Following this event, the Velvet Vine Wine Bar and Bistro in the mill will be serving a specialty martini, called the Nasty Woman, with a portion of proceeds going to Planned Parenthood.
