    Cultural coalition awarded $20,000 grant

New London — The Southeastern Connecticut Cultural Coalition has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Frank Loomis Palmer Fund to support the coalition's Rising Tide Series of events, including cultural conversations, summits and roundtables.

The fund was established in 1936 to support and promote quality educational, cultural, human services and health care programming for underserved populations. It specifically serves the people of New London.

"The grant demonstrates confidence in our organization as a valuable resource to New London and, by extension, the region,” Wendy Bury, the coalition’s executive director, said in a statement. “Twenty percent of our total 480 partners are located in and serving New London and beyond. These funds support the work we do to help our partners thrive."

The Rising Tide Series provides opportunities for collaboration, capacity building, information sharing and addressing common challenges within the arts, cultural, heritage and creative sector of southeastern Connecticut.
