Mystic — If tradition holds, more than 30,000 people will descend on Mystic on Sunday, March 19, for the annual Mystic Irish Parade at 1 p.m.

The path of the procession goes from Mystic Seaport on Route 27 to the Mystic Museum of Art on Water Street, and the participants — upward of 2,000 individuals in all — include bagpipe bands, dancing groups, fife and drum units, high school musicians, local businesses and more. This year’s grand marshal is Stonington Police Chief Darren Stewart.
