North Stonington crash late Friday sends seven to hospital

North Stonington — Interstate 95 at Exit 92 was closed for a time late Friday after a Chrysler Pacifica SUV collided with a Fed-Ex truck, sending all seven occupants of the SUV to the hospital for possible minor injuries, state police in Montville said.

The accident occurred at 10:49 p.m. at the Exit 92 off ramp, when the 2005 Pacifica, driven by Latarsha L. Sanders, 42, of Brockton, Mass., collided with the Fed-Ex truck, driven by Lawrence R. Blais of East Providence. The Pacifica then struck the wire rope guardrail, police said.

Sanders and her six passengers, two adults and four children ranging in age from 4 to 14, all of Brockton, Mass., were transported by North Stonington emergency medical service to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London for “possible minor injuries,” police said.

Blais was not injured, police said.
