    Westerly Hospital to host discussion about adolescent issues

    Westerly — Westerly Hospital will host a panel discussion from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday featuring experts versed in four key issues impacting today’s adolescents that are prominent in the popular Netflix series “13 Reasons Why” — bullying, sexual assault, domestic violence and suicide.

    The discussion will take place in the hospital’s Henry J. Nardone Conference Center and will be moderated by Dr. Robert Harrison, an instructor in youth mental health first aid and suicide prevention. A question-and-answer session will follow.

    Panelists will include Leigh Rapoza, social worker with the Rhode Island Youth Suicide Prevention Program; Patrick Cozzolino, social worker with Westerly Middle School's bullying prevention program; Mary Roda, executive director of the Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County; and Sandra Malone, drector of pevention and traning at Day One Sexual Assault and Trauma Center.
