33rd Annual Nick Woviotis Memorial Scholarships awarded May 26
Allynna Grills of the Marine Science Magnet High School of Groton and John Christopher Madden of New London High School are co-recipients of the 33rd annual Nick Woviotis Memorial Scholarship Award. The awards were presented at a dinner held May 26 at the Italian Dramatic Club in New London.
Ms. Grills and Mr. Madden will each receive a $2,500 award and will continue to receive $1,000 each year throughout their college career.
In addition, a special $2,000 award is being made to Nishan Manuel Pemberton, a graduate of New London High.
Others receiving awards at the dinner were Mena Buscetto, Grant Pezzolesi, Christopher Herson Jr., Jose Garcia, Thomas Sutera, J. Hunter Roman, Kobe Haley and Scott Bailey.
To date, over $200,000 in scholarships have been awarded.
