Groton police issue traffic alert for Saturday in Noank

Groton — Drivers may experience traffic delays while traveling through Noank on Saturday morning due to the Tour de Noank 5K Road Race and Kids Fun Run, Groton Town police said.

The fun run begins at 9:15 a.m., followed by the road race at 10 a.m., starting at Esker Point Beach.

Traffic may be delayed on the following roads: Groton Long Point Road, from Brook Street to Esker Point Beach; Brook Street, from Groton Long Point Road to Elm Street; Elm Street, from Groton Long Point road to Brook Street; and Marsh Road, from Groton Long Point to Terrace Avenue. Police are urging motorists to use caution while driving through the area.

Police expect all roads to be free of congestion by noon.
