Blumenthal solicits public comment about GOP plan for repeal of ACA

New London — Sen. Richard Blumenthal will host a meeting at 2 p.m. Friday to hear from the public about the Republican plan to continue efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

This will be the fifth “emergency field hearing” for Blumenthal, a Democrat, about the ACA. It will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Weller Center on the second floor of the Clark Building at Mitchell College.

In a news release issued Wednesday, Blumenthal said he is hosting the hearing because the GOP is providing “no opportunity for formal public input on the impact of the Affordable Care Act or the Senate Republican changes to the ACA,” which he said would “strip coverage from millions of Americans.”

Blumenthal said he wants to give members of the public “a chance to voice for the record how repeal of the Affordable Care Act and the Senate Republican plan will impact them and their families.”
