Sanders, Trump win primary votes in southeastern Connecticut

After yesterday's primary, in which Hillary Clinton and Donald J. Trump won the majority of the votes in their respective primary, we pulled election result data from the Connecticut Secretary of the State to see town-by-town results in southeastern Connecticut.

Below you'll see results for each primary as well as a map of the state that shows the increase in voter registration since the beginning of the year. Trump won 58% of the primary votes in our region, and while Hillary Clinton won a majority of votes in the state, Bernie Sanders won 53% in this part of the state.

Data is from the state's new electronic reporting system. Results are incomplete because participation by town election officials was voluntary during the primary.
