Robert and Grace Marrion, of Niantic, celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on August 27, 2015. Bob and Grace were married in 1955 in Forest Hills, N.Y.

Bob, a native of Winthrop, Mass., attended the College of the Holy Cross and was a naval lieutenant stationed at Norfolk, Va. when he met Grace, who was from Forest Hills, and was studying at the College of William and Mary.

Following Grace’s graduation, Bob made the long drive from Virginia Beach to Forest Hills and back every weekend until they married.

They moved to Cambridge, Mass. while Bob attended Harvard Law School and Grace worked at the Cambridge Bank & Trust. The couple moved to New London in 1958 with their oldest daughter and then to Niantic, where they have lived ever since.

Bob and Grace will celebrate with their children, children-in-law, and grandchildren, Ruth, Catherine, Tom, Gwen, Faith, Christopher, Randy, Henry, Ray, Sarah, Andrew, Bob, Noah and Olivia.
