On Sept. 6, 2015, Kenneth “Mac” McKenna and Carol Romano were honored with a celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.

The day began with a blessing of their marriage vows by Father Mark O’Donnell at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New London. Their highlight was followed by an intimate gathering of family and close friends at Filomena’s Restaurant & Private Dining in Waterford that was hosted by their sons, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren.

Mac and Carol were married on Sept. 4, 1965, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in New London by Rev. Thomas LaFleur. Mac, a proud Vietnam veteran is retired from the U.S. Federal Civil Service and Carol is retired from the City of New London’s personnel department.

Their family included sons and daughter-in-laws Sean and Amy McKenna, Bryan and Devon McKenna. Treasured are seven beautiful grandchildren Nathan, Catherine, Mary Margaret, Keegan, Keridwyn, Everett and Collin, who bring great happiness to their “Papa” and “Nonni”.

A second honeymoon is planned for a later date.
