    Klee — Briggs

    Danielle and Justin Klee

    Danielle Alexandra Briggs and Justin Bernard Klee were married July 16, 2016, at Our Lady of Providence Chapel at Aldrich Mansion in Warwick, R.I. Fr. Peter Mongeon of Cranston, R.I., officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. William F. Briggs Jr. and Dr. Amarilis Talavera-Briggs of East Lyme. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. Brian D. Klee and Dr. Diane Davidson of Waterford.

    David Sayet of Norwich was best man. Groomsmen included Jared and Trevor Klee, brothers of the groom, Joshua Briggs, brother of the bride, and Joshua Cohen, Eric Greenstein and Robert Schlink, friends of the groom. Jessica Schlink of Mystic was matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Cynthia and Andrea Briggs, cousins of the bride, and Lila Daly, Tess Williams and Natalie Kleeman, friends of the bride.

    The bride was escorted by her father. She walked the aisle in a white silk satin and organza ball gown by Alita Graham and carried a bouquet of white and pale pink garden roses. She wore a cathedral-length veil finished with a crystal trim. For her daughter’s wedding, Dr. Talavera-Briggs wore a V-neck black gown accented with black jewel. Dr. Davidson, the bridegroom’s mother, wore an off the shoulder black gown accented with silver jewel.

    Reception

    Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents entertained 175 guests at a reception at Aldrich Mansion. Hors d’oeuvres and signature drinks (vodka, sweet lemon, bubbles for the bride; rye whiskey, cognac, bitters for the bridegroom) were passed during the cocktail hour. The Connecticut String Trio played.

    The bride’s father gave a moving speech, followed by the best man and the bride’s cousin. After a blessing by the bride’s brother, guests were seated for dinner. Dinner included roast tenderloin of beef with a madeira wine reduction and baked scrod with a seasoned cracker topping.

    The eight-piece band kept guests dancing throughout the evening. The bridal couple danced to “It Had to Be You” by Harry Connick, Jr. The bride and her father danced to “Because You Loved Me” by Céline Dion. The bridegroom and his mother danced to “Stand by Me” by Ben King.

    After cutting their cake, the bridal couple escorted guests into a surprise dessert room in the mansion library. The dessert room included over 30 assorted cakes, pies, and tarts, and a chef flambéed Bananas Foster tableside.

    Guests held sparklers to honor the couple as they departed in a white Rolls Royce Silver Cloud.

    After a honeymoon trip to Rome, Italy and Santorini, Greece, the couple is living in Boston, Mass. The bridegroom, a Brown University graduate, is president and founder of Amylyx Pharmaceuticals. The bride, a University of Texas at Austin graduate and Teach For America alumna, works in public relations.

    Rehearsal Dinner

    Mr. Brian D. Klee and Dr. Diane Davidson hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Providence Biltmore Hotel in Providence, R.I. on Friday evening. The bride-elect wore a gold strapless gown by Laundry by Shelli Segal. The hosts entertained 90 friends and family members in the Garden Room. Champagne toasts honoring the bridal couple were given by the bridegroom’s mother, father, brothers and sister, and by the bride’s brother.
