Cromwell — Connecticut Better Business Bureau is soliciting nominations for nine local military heroes for recognition, at the BBB sponsored Military Appreciation Night on Aug. 21 at the Connecticut Tigers' Dodd Stadium in Norwich.

The evening will start off with a dedication ceremony to honor the military heroes before the game. Each one will be introduced to the baseball fans, receive an award on the field and be featured in a special commemorative baseball card deck featuring the "Military All-Stars" and detailing their careers in the military.

Military Appreciation Night is sponsored by BBB Military Line, which provides free services, consumer education and other resources for military families, to assist them during and after deployment. One of the military heroes recognized last year acknowledged the value of BBB Military Line, explaining that one of the biggest challenges is finding resources specific to military families.
