TV tip: Previously touted series turns ridiculous

Wait! I know what you're thinking: didn't Koster write about this mystical series in this space LAST week? And the answer is, yes, I did. At the time, we were halfway through the eight episodes about the sudden reappearance of a long-missing woman who'd been held captive along with three others in a scientific underground lair. Their connection? All suffered near-death experiences, and their mad-genius kidnapper was conducting experiments. Last week, I warned that the intriguing early episodes were showing signs of getting weird. Well, if you haven't started watching — DON'T! It's gone completely off the rails, and no rational human can endure Episode Five's long, instinctual free-form dance performance by two of the captives — somehow opening a portal to a new dimension — and in good conscience go on to Episode Six. Instead? Celebrate the return of "Sherlock." Or read a book. Or plant beets.
