World of Dance

10 p.m. Tuesdays, NBC

I had high hopes for this series, since it was promoted as featuring the best dancers around and since it boasted Jennifer Lopez, who is not only a dancer but also proved her judging prowess on “American Idol.” Unfortunately, the show doesn’t crackle, at least not yet. The performances are certainly polished and professionally skilled, but a lot of them seem to sacrifice emotion and personality for wow moments. (It’s the physical equivalent of “American Idol” contestants going for those high notes but not connecting with the lyrics.) Lopez is good, but Derek Hough and Ne-Yo don’t make much of an impact as the other judges. I’m going back to “So You Think You Can Dance,” thank you.
