    1 dead in shooting at New Jersey college frat house

    NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — A shooting at a fraternity house near the New Jersey Institute of Technology has left one person dead.

    The shooting took place at Tau Kappa Epsilon in Newark before 3:30 a.m. Monday. The Essex County prosecutor's office says the male victim was pronounced dead about 90 minutes later at University Hospital.

    The name of the victim is being withheld until his family is notified.

    The investigation is ongoing and no other information has been released.

    The fraternity's website says the chapter was founded in 1965 and "promotes scholarship, leadership, character, teamwork, service, athletics, and brotherhood."
