Four charged after Groton knife fight
Groton — Four people were arrested overnight after a fight Saturday on North Street involving a knife that led to two victims being taken to the hospital.
Two unidentified victims were treated and released at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, according to police. The extent of their injuries was not given in an official report by the City of Groton Police Department, though the dispatch log said at least one victim had a wound to his hand.
Held on the most serious charge was Andrew Young, 20, of 107 Spicer Ave., Apt. 4. Young was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, carrying a dangerous weapon and interfering with police and was held on a $250,000 bond pending his appearance Monday in New London Superior Court.
Others arrested were Ian Young, 19, of 85 Litton Ave., charged with third-degree assault, breach of peace and interfering with police; Brittany Gilcrease, 19, of 107 Spicer Ave., Apt. 4, charged with breach of peace and interfering with police; and Zachery Higgins, 18, of 28 Hartford Court, charged with interfering with police.
The Groton Town and Ledyard police departments helped in the investigation.
