    Three New London residents arrested on drug-related charges

    New London — Police said they arrested three city residents on drug-related and other charges, after executing search-and-seizure warrants Wednesday at two Jefferson Avenue apartments.

    The Statewide Narcotics Task Force-East and the New London Police Department's Vice and Narcotics Unit executed the warrants at 42 Jefferson Ave., No. 1 and No. 2, at 5:54 p.m. on Wednesday.

    Police said they seized 216.9 grams of heroin, 21 grams of crack cocaine, a stolen .45-caliber firearm, and $1,837 in cash from the first apartment.

    From the second apartment, police seized $1,205 in cash, 12 milligrams of suboxone, 0.5 ounces of marijuana and heroin residue.

    Jerome Hunter, 30, of 42 Jefferson Ave., No. 1, was charged with two counts of possession of narcotics, two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, operating a drug factory, criminal possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.

    Jessica Hopkins, 25, of 42 Jefferson Ave., No. 1, was charged with two counts of possession of narcotics, two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, operating a drug factory, criminal possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.

    Victor Encarnacion, 28, of 42 Jefferson Ave., No. 2, was charged with three counts of possession of narcotics, two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, operating a drug factory and destruction of evidence during a search warrant.

    Hunter, Hopkins and Encarnacion were taken to the state police headquarters in Montville for processing, according to the police report.
