    UPDATED: Reward offered in Old Lyme bank robbery case

    Old Lyme — Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a male suspect who allegedly robbed the Webster Bank at 7 Halls Road around noon Wednesday.

    The suspect is described as a white male, who appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, with a medium build and a day or two of facial hair growth, according to police.

    The suspect wore prescription-style eyeglasses, a white and blue UConn baseball hat, a white baseball-type shirt with blue or gray sleeves, khaki shorts and white sneakers.

    He was carrying a shoulder satchel-style bag and was seen arriving and leaving the bank on a bicycle.

    Anybody with information about the robbery is asked to contact State Police Troop F in Westbrook at (860) 399-2100 or Detective Jim McGlynn at (860) 399-2118.

    The Connecticut Bankers Reward Association is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the apprehension of those responsible for the robbery.
