FBI, state troopers in North Stonington nab suspected bank robber

North Stonington — Troopers from the North Stonington Resident Trooper’s Office and members of the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force on Wednesday arrested a 28-year-old Massachusetts woman wanted on bank robbery charges.

Rachel Devine, 28, of 504 Pleasant St. in Waymouth, Mass., was wanted by the FBI on charges connected to a bank robbery in Boston, state police said.

Authorities learned she had been staying at the Star Dust Hotel off Route 184 in North Stonington.

Troopers conducted surveillance at the hotel and were able to identify the suspect, police said.

The FBI Violent Task Force responded to the hotel and, with the assistance of the troopers, took Devine into custody.

Devine was charged with being a fugitive from justice, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Held in lieu of a $250,000 bond, Devine is due for arraignment Thursday in New London Superior Court.
