Juvenile charged in Norwich flare gun incident
Norwich _ Police charged a juvenile early Sunday morning in connection with firing a flare that ignited a small fire.
The juvenile was charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, reckless burning, third-degree criminal mischief and carrying a dangerous weapon.
The juvenile displayed and fired a flare gun after a disturbance involving five people near Williams and Uncas streets, police said in a news release.
The flare hit a nearby house and ignited a small fire that extinguished on its own. No injuries were reported.
The juvenile was released into the custody of a parent and given a summons to appear in Juvenile Court.
