Woman charged with using $72,000 from stolen Foxwoods card
Mashantucket — Tribal police early Friday arrested a New York woman on charges she used a stolen Foxwoods player’s card to buy more than $72,000 in gift cards from Foxwoods Casino.
Linda Yang, 64, of Astoria, N.Y., was arrested by warrant Friday with first-degree larceny shortly after she was spotted at Foxwoods.
Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Police Chief William Dittman said a warrant was obtained following a lengthy investigation into the theft of the victim’s player’s card in May.
Prior to cancellation of the card, Yang managed to use $72,000 from the victim’s Foxwoods Dream Rewards account in which points are equal to cash.
Yang, police allege, used the points to buy gift cards in large denominations.
Held on a $100,000 court set bond, Yang was scheduled to appear Friday in New London Superior Court.
