Old Saybrook police want residents to give them 'the bird'

Old Saybrook — Police are holding their fifth annual "Give the Cops the Bird!" event this weekend at Stop & Shop, according to a news release.
From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, police said they will be on hand at the 105 Elm St. Stop & Shop to collect turkeys and canned food.
Police said they work with the Old Saybrook Youth and Family Services to help distribute the donations and that, in the past, they've helped not only local families but also agencies along the shoreline.
According to police, this event is one of the only chances to give a cop "the bird" and not get in trouble for it.
