    Long Cove Road closed in Ledyard after car leaves pole 'dangling in midair'

    Ledyard — Long Cove Road is closed after a car crashed into a pole Wednesday morning, police said.

    The accident, which happened in front of 705 Long Cove Road, left the pole "dangling in midair" and made the roadway too dangerous to pass, according to Lt. Ken Creutz.

    Creutz said no injuries resulted from the accident, but the road will be closed for quite some time.

    Police are urging motorists to seek alternate routes.
