Motorcyclist sustained serious injuries following accident in Norwich
Norwich — A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries following a reported motorcycle vs. truck accident Thursday night.
Authorities responded to 109 Salem Turnpike about 6 p.m.
The motorcyclist was transported to William W. Backus Hospital with serious injuries and was later flown to Hartford Hospital by a LifeStar helicopter.
The name of the motorcyclist was not being released until family members are notified.
Police did not release details on any injuries sustained by the truck driver.
The westbound travel lanes of Salem Turnpike were shut down temporarily between Wawecus Hill Road and Interstate 395 for the investigation.
