Norwich — A 31-year-old city resident was taken by Life Star helicopter on Wednesday to Hartford Hospital after sustaining injuries during a motorcycle accident on Interstate 395 south near Exit 13.

Eric Pechie, of 140 Canterbury Turnpike, lost control of his vehicle after turning onto the highway from Route 2, then fell or slid off onto the road, state police said.

He was taken by Yantic Ambulance to The William W. Backus Hospital, then transferred by Life Star to Hartford Hospital, police said.

His condition was not available Thursday.
