Woman struck by firework in Mystic suffers minor injuries

Stonington — A woman suffered minor injuries when she was struck by a firework on Greenmanville Avenue on Monday night, police Sgt. Keith Beebe said.

Police were called about 8:20 p.m. for a report of a firework going off at Twisters Ice Cream at 135 Greenmanville Ave. in Mystic. Beebe said the firework struck a woman in the parking lot and also damaged a car.

Police arrested a man and charged him with possession of fireworks, but his name was not immediately available. The man may also face other charges, Beebe said.
