UPDATED: I-95 north in East Lyme clear after successive crashes

East Lyme — The northbound segment of Interstate 95 is clear again after two successive crashes.
According to the state Department of Transportation, the first crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. between exits 72 and 73.
Traffic was backed up to exit 70 in Old Lyme, but the scene was cleared about 2:30 p.m.
The second crash occured about 3:15 p.m. between exits 73 and 74, with traffic backed up past Exit 71. It was cleared around 3:45 p.m.
The left lane temporarily was closed in both crashes.
State police said no injuries were reported in either incident.
