New London — Police on Thursday evening arrested three people in an operation that spanned the city and aimed to address quality-of-life issues.

According to police, members of the city police patrol division and the Vice and Narcotics Section conducted the narcotics field operation.

Arrested were Nilda Ayala, 53, of 8 Summer St., New London; Anthony Hodges, 21, of 55 Branford Ave., Groton, and Danielle Josiah, 31, of 17 Trumbull Road, Waterford.

Police charged all three with criminal attempt to commit possession of narcotics.

Police, who said the initiative is ongoing, are asking anyone with information concerning narcotics activity — as well as loitering, panhandling, public intoxication and trespassing — to contact them at (860) 447-5269, ext. 0, or to submit anonymous information via the department's online Tips 411 system.
