Waterford police to ramp up enforcement for Labor Day weekend

Waterford — Police on Friday will begin staffing sobriety checkpoints in preparation for Labor Day weekend.
Police also will staff additional officers to seek out and pull over drivers who may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The department's efforts are part of a holiday crackdown led by the state Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration.
