New London — Ledyard Street is closed near its intersection with Broad Street after a power line came down in the area near 6 a.m., according to fire officials.

Fire officials said the line came down on its own and that an Eversource crew has been asked to respond to the scene.

City responders have handled two other minor accidents this morning. In one, which occurred in the vicinity of 41 Walbach St., a vehicle struck a pedestrian at a low rate of speed. That crash caused minor injuries and no extended road closure.

Another minor crash happened on Truman Street near Blinman Street around 8 a.m. Both of those roads are open.
