    Police make second arrest in shooting at 99 Restaurant

    Groton — Police have arrested a second juvenile in their investigation of a shooting last Sunday afternoon at the 99 Restaurant.

    The name of the second 17-year-old juvenile arrested Friday is being withheld by police.

    He was charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, first-degree accessory to robbery, first-degree accessory to assault and first-degree robbery.

    The charges are related to the shooting of another 17-year-old in the parking lot of the 99 restaurant at 117 Long hill road on Sunday, Oct. 1.

    The victim underwent surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Police had said at the time that the shooting was not a random act.

    On Wednesday, Groton Town Police announced they had charged Cevon T. Riley, 17, with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery and carrying a pistol without a permit in connection to the shooting. 

    He will be tried as an adult due to the serious nature of the charges.
