New London police investigating Chelsea Groton robbery
New London — Police are investigating a reported robbery at the Chelsea Groton Savings Bank on Montauk Avenue on Wednesday morning.
According to the report, a man handed a teller a note and left with an undisclosed amount of money. No weapons were shown and no injuries were reported.
The suspect was last seen running north on Summer Street from Bank Street. He is described as a thin- or medium-build black male, about 6 feet tall with scruffy facial hair, wearing jeans, black sneakers and a black winter coat with a fur-trimmed hood.
The FBI is assisting in the investigation, which is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the New London Police Department Detective Division at (860) 447-1481.
