Groton Town police investigating Tuesday morning bank robbery

Groton — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man they said carried out an unarmed robbery at the Chelsea Groton Bank at 1319 Gold Star Highway.

According to police, the man entered the bank and demanded that money be put into a paper bag he had, but he didn’t show or indicate that he had any potential weapons. The incident was reported at 11:30 a.m.

He left the bank on foot with an unspecified amount of cash and headed east on Gold Star Highway, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at (860) 441-6712.
