Two charged in Route 32 road rage disturbance

New London — Two people were charged Tuesday after a road rage incident on Route 32 near Connecticut College escalated into a physical confrontation.

Nathan Moore, 44, of 145 Norwich-New London Turnpike, Montville, was taken into custody and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace.

Shamil Toro, 25, of 14 Oakwood Knoll, No. 14, Norwich, was issued a criminal summons on scene on a second-degree breach of peace charge.

According to a news release, police received multiple calls about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday reporting a road rage incident in the southbound lanes of Route 32 near Connecticut College.

Further investigation uncovered that Moore and Toro had exchanged words and gestures at a traffic light over a traffic-related disagreement, which then escalated into a physical confrontation, police said.
