Stonington police charge 16-year-old boy with stealing car

Stonington — Police charged a 16-year-old boy with first-degree larceny Tuesday after they said he stole an SUV in the New Haven area and drove here with it.

Police said that two boys, one of whom was charged, left a youth facility and then stole a running SUV. Police said they had information that one of the boys had friends here and when they went to the friends' residence, they found the boys and the SUV.

After his arrest, the boy was turned over to juvenile parole officers.
