New London — Of the 11 stores police and the New London Community and Campus Coalition checked for alcohol sales compliance Thursday evening, two were cited for sale of alcohol to a minor.

Those two were The Wine Merchant, 88 Broad St., and Globe Spirit Shop, 113 Green St. Police issued both involved clerks a summons to appear in court Feb. 2 and referred both establishments to the state Liquor Control Division for further proceedings.

The following establishments verified the minor’s age and refused the sale:

• The Liquor Closet, 279 Broad St.

• Honey Bee Farms, 265 Broad St.

• Thames River Greenery, 68 State St.

• Eric's Liquor Store, 643 Broad St.

• Yellow Front Package Store, 177 Colman St.

• Hartling's Package Store, 455 Montauk Ave.

• Ocean Discount Wine and Spirits, 857 Montauk Ave.

• The Packy, 915 Bank St.

• Universal Store, 401 Williams St.
