Ledyard police arrest pair after uncovering marijuana growing operation
Ledyard — Town police arrested two people Monday after executing a search warrant at a home they allege was used to grow and sell marijuana.
Police said they conducted a monthlong investigation into the possible cultivation and sale of marijuana at 952 Shewville Road.
On Monday they executed the search and seizure warrant, discovering a small marijuana-growing operation in a closet, marijuana, a revolver and a small electric stun gun.
Two children were also living at the residence.
Ross Meyer, 34, was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor, cultivation of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell, criminal possession of a pistol and criminal possession of a defense weapon.
Melissa Burgess, 25, was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor.
Both were living at the home.
Meyer was being held on a $50,000 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Tuesday.
Burgess was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond. She is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Feb. 21.
