    New London police arrest man on gun, drug charges

    New London -- A Trenton, N.J., man was arrested on illegal gun and drug charges early Sunday morning following a domestic dispute at a Federal Street residence.

    Police said they received a 911 call at 4:10 a.m. reporting a domestic disturbance that involved a gun. During their investigation, police said they made contact with Edwin Caraballo, 30, and seized a .40 caliber semiautomatic pistol, 13.7 grams of cocaine packaged for street sale, 4.6 grams of heroin packaged for street sale, 2.2 grams of PCP and $1,034 in cash.

    Caraballo was charged with criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of ammunition, as he is barred from owning a firearm, police said. They also charged him with operating a drug factory, possession of hallucinogens, two counts of possession of narcotics, two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, risk of injury to a minor and disorderly conduct.

    Caraballo is being held on a $275,000 bond. If he does not make bond, he will appear in New London Superior Court Monday.
