Mashantucket — A 29-year-old Massachusetts man is scheduled to appear in court this month after he allegedly pushed a female bathroom attendant to the ground while trying to enter a women's restroom at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

Peter D. O'Donnell of Hyde Park, Mass., was charged with second-degree breach of peace in the incident, which occurred May 24.

According to an arrest report, Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Police Officer Paul J. Bicki learned of the incident about 12:30 a.m., when a woman walked out of the Shrine nightclub and said she wanted to make a complaint against a man later identified as O'Donnell. Bicki had been standing in front of the club and monitoring patrons as they entered and exited.

In a written statement, the victim, who is a subcontracted restroom attendant for Shrine, said when O'Donnell entered the restroom, she told him it was the wrong one and attempted to escort him out. He resisted, she said, so she tried to push him out. At that point, she wrote, he "grabbed my shoulder and neck and pushed me to the ground."

The woman told police O'Donnell again attempted to enter the restroom, so she held on to him until security arrived. She said she had hit her head on the wall as she was falling, but didn't require medical attention. Police didn't locate any visible injuries.

In the report, Bicki said O'Donnell "appeared highly intoxicated." He had slurred speech, Bicki wrote, and was unsteady on his feet. According to the report, O'Donnell told Bicki he was looking for someone in the restroom, but couldn't explain why he grabbed and threw an employee to the ground.

Police permanently ejected O'Donnell from Foxwoods and referred Shrine to the state Liquor Control Division.

O'Donnell is due in New London Superior Court on June 7.
