New London police open investigation after car hits 12-year-old

New London — Police are investigating a Thursday night crash in which a car struck and injured a 12-year-old.

According to police, officers responded about 8:33 p.m. to the crash near Montauk Avenue and Orchard Street.

Crews took the 12-year-old to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital with what police said appeared to be minor injuries.

Police did not identify the driver and have not charged anyone in relation to the crash.
