    Groton Town Police investigate moped crash

    A 27-year-old Stonington man was seriously injured Wednesday after crashing his moped in Groton, police said.

    At 10:19 p.m. Wednesday Groton Town Police responded to New London Road, in the area of Bel Aire Drive, for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Police were joined by Mystic Fire Department, Mystic River Ambulance and the Lawrence + Memorial Hospital Paramedic Unit.

    Patrick Naylor, age 27, of Stonington apparently had lost control of his moped and crashed. Naylor was transported to L+M Hospital for treatment of what police described as serious injuries. No longer a patient at L+M, Naylor's condition is unknown.
