East Lyme man charged with second-degree assault, breach of peace
East Lyme — A 21-year-old resident was arrested in connection with a reported fight at McCook's Point Park on Saturday evening, police said.
Police said they arrived at the park at 9:33 p.m. at the end of "Celebrate East Lyme" fireworks for the reported incident. They found a victim with facial injuries in the upper lot, who was then taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London.
After a short investigation, Brandon K. Morton of 9 Alscot Drive was taken into custody and charged with second-degree assault and breach of peace, according to the police report.
Police said he is scheduled to appear at GA-10 New London at 9 a.m. July 28. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond.
