Gales Ferry woman arrested on narcotics charges

Ledyard — Police arrested a Gales Ferry woman Friday evening, citing her on a number of charges, after they said they seized a variety of drugs at her home.

Suzanne S. Delaura, 55, of 4 Laurel Leaf Drive is charged with possession of narcotics, possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. In a news release issued Saturday morning, police said they had seized cocaine and marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia, after serving a search warrant at her residence.

Delaura is scheduled to appear Aug. 3 in New London Superior Court.

The arrest was the result of a joint investigation among town police, the Regional Community Enhancement Task Force and the Statewide Narcotics Task Force, according to the release.
